ARTISANS ROAD TRIP 2020: LAST CALL TO ARTISTS!

ARTISANS ROAD TRIP 2020: LAST CALL TO ARTISTS!

October may seem far away, but now is the time to apply to be a part of the seventeenth annual Artisans Road Trip! Applications need to be postmarked by March 1st, 2020 in order to be accepted. Why so early in the year? Quite simply, it takes a lot of time and behind the scenes work to make a great event like A.R.T. happen. Once we have our membership finalized, then we get to work on designing the brochure, updating the website, and beginning to get the word out about all of our artists!

Why should you be a part of A.R.T.? For the artisans involved, the Road Trip is a powerful networking and marketing opportunity. In addition to the October event, participating artists also benefit from year-round advertising with thousands of brochures distributed; a regularly updated blog; 24/7 website; plus group gallery exhibitions (including one this year at the Pearson Lakes Art Center in Okoboji)!

All artists in the region are encouraged to apply for the upcoming 2020 season!  A.R.T. is organized and run by artists for artists.  Together we work to increase art exposure, introducing new art styles to the community and new customers to local artists.  And we want YOU to join us!  A.R.T. is always looking for new and returning artists!

For more information, links to the official A.R.T. blog and current artist biographies, as well as a downloadable .PDF of the 2020 Artist Application & Prospectus, go to www.artisansroadtrip.com. If you have any questions, please contact President Haley McAndrews at ArtisansRoadTrip@gmail.com.

A.R.T Participant Hank Hall Exhibits in Worthington, MN

"Stone Hinged" (stoneware, wire, metal, wood, rock)

Artisans Road Trip participant Hank Hall from Spirit Lake is currently showing a new body of mixed media work at the Nobles County Art Center in Worthington, MN through July 19.

Titled “What’s Inside My Head? Mixed Media Work of Hank Hall,” his exhibit presents recent work inspired by countless bits and pieces of hardware, natural and found objects, and household paints and glues which surround him in his workshop. He thrives on the “what ifs” that arise as he experiments with materials during the creative process. The results often beg the question, “What’s inside his head?”
"Permed" (stoneware, metal, rubber)

Hall is a clay and mixed media specialist whose teapots and “teapotish” sculptures have been recognized in juried exhibits across the country. A retired high school art educator and later an owner of a local art gallery/studio, Hall now focuses on new ideas in his home workshop called Tin Bin Studio on East Lake Okoboji. His artistic goal is to make a statement that meets his personal aesthetic, and if others get a kick out of it, he says, “It doesn’t get any better than that.”
"Spring Frost" (stoneware, hot glue)

The Nobles County Art Center is located in the Worthington Public Library on the lower level at 407 12th Street in Worthington, MN and is open Monday-Friday from noon until 3:00. For more information about the NCAC or Hall’s exhibit, call 507-372-8245.
Hall will open his studio to the public during the Artisans Road Trip October 12-13 and invites the public to take the free, self-guided tour of Northwest Iowa artists’ studios and galleries representing their work. Most items on the tour are available for purchase. Go to www.artisansroadtrip.com for the 2019 brochure with map.
"Orbit" (stoneware, wire, epoxy, plastic)
