New Sculpture by William Lieb Installed at Iowa Lakeside Laboratory
Long-time Artisans Road Trip artist Bill Lieb and his wife Jane recently installed one of Bill’s abstract bird sculptures at Iowa Lakeside Laboratory on West Lake Okoboji. The 10’ tall piece was placed with the prairie plants inside the turn-around outside Waitt Lab.
The sculpture consists of a weathering steel base, two stainless steel wing structures and an aluminum top spinner. The kinetic piece is activated by the breeze and moves in playful unpredictable ways, magically reflecting the sun and sky above.
Visit Lakeside Lab to enjoy the wonderful architecture and landscaping, attend public education programs, and hike the exciting trails that permeate the campus and surrounding area.
